March @ the Library

March 2022!

While a celebration is in order now that the ice and snow have melted, March can be rainy and windy, so we probably need to celebrate indoors. At GPL, we’re celebrating the return of programming to the library.

On March 5th, from 9:00-11:30, a seed exchange will be held in the McKee room. We’ll have vegetable and flower seeds to give away. If attendees have extra seeds they’d like to share, they’re welcome to bring them. We’ll also be giving away mildewed seeds to help support Gentry’s proclamation as a Monarch City. Our friends at Gentry Ace Hardware have graciously donated a $50 gift certificate to us. Attendees at the seed exchange can sign up for the drawing.

Yoga is back at the library – Mondays at 8:30 am & Thursdays 5:30 pm.

Storytime is back at the library – Wednesdays at 10:30.

Coffee Hour is starting at the library – Fridays 9:00-11:00.

Stop by & see us!

February @ the Library

We at GPL can’t believe how quickly January went by, but here we are in February! Winter is still with us, so we’re offering some coziness to help you keep warm.

Of course, February is all about love! Please stop in and pick up our latest take-home craft – a Valentine card kit.

Also, you might want to pick up a Valentine Surprise Book. You won’t know what it is until you unwrap it!

We had planned to start several programs in January but had to delay. Please check our Facebook page or our calendar for updates to when we will again have toddler story time, yoga, and coffee hour.

When you’re here, check out our Black History Month book display. We’ve added several titles recently that we think you’ll find interesting.

A little March teaser – March 5th we’ll be having our Seed Exchange. We’ll have free vegetable and flower seeds for you to pick up. We’ll also have Milkweed seeds for you to take and plant for the Monarch butterflies who visit every summer. Master Gardeners will be here to answer questions, and we’ll have a demonstration on winter sowing.

Stay warm & safe,

Library Staff
